The Sydney Auto Show saw the debut of the fastest hatchback vehicle Japanese automaker Mazda has ever made, the Mazda 3 MPS Extreme.
The power specs of the upgraded Mazda 3 are amazing with its 2.3-liter turbocharged engine being able to produce 282bhp and 425Nm of torque. This is an increase of 26bhp and 45Nm. With the upgrade made both on horsepower and torque, of course the overall performance of the Mazda 3 MPS Extreme also improved by at least 20 percent. The brakes have also been upgraded.
The acceleration speed has not yet been revealed but it is said that this 5-door hatchback will run from 0-60 miles per hour in less than 5.5 seconds. With that speed, the Mazda 3 MPS Extreme is currently the fastest model in its class.
Other upgrades of the said model include 19-inch BBS Motorsport alloy wheels and extra MPS badging and the suspension has also been reduced by 25mm. This model will soon be available for grabs in Australia. Unfortunately, UK buyers will have to do with the standard Mazda 3 which has 256bhp.
